    USA Today's High School Sports category for Best Boys 
    Basketball Program for 2015. VJ won for most votes in Mississippi, but now we must try to advance in the regional round of voting. Please click the link below to vote for VJ. You may vote more than once.

  •  ACT Boot Camp
    ACT Boot Camp 
     
    Velma Jackson will be hosting another ACT Boot Camp this semester. It will be held on Saturdays from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. The dates are as follows:

  •  Shout-Out
     Send Someone a Shout-Out!
     
    This year's Prom fundraiser will be done in shout-out form. Students, Parents, & Faculty may send a shout-out to any student or faculty member of their choice. Shout-outs will cost $5 to have it posted on the bulletin board in the front hall or the electronic sign in front of the school, or you may pay $10 to have it posted both places. Requests & payments must be made by Thursday at 4:00 P.M. each week in order to be posted the following week. If you wish to purchase a shout out, click here

    2nd Annual Health Science Career Fair
    Germantown High School
    9:00 am – 3:00 pm

    All ninth graders in Madison School County Schools will attend the 2nd Annual Health Science Career Fair sponsored by St. Dominic.  During the career fair, St. Dominic will present on 36 career fields that cover the 16 national career clusters students learn about in Freshman Focus.  Each student will have an opportunity to visit six stations that relate to their current career interests.  St. Dominic will also present an informative skit that highlights working in an emergency room and the dangers of texting and driving.

The mission of Velma Jackson High School, with the collective support of parents/guardians, teachers, staff and community, is to provide a safe environment with the best educational experience possible. We strive to meet, maintain & exceed successful status while preparing students with the academic & social skills necessary to attain college and career readiness.

-Build a team climate among administrators, teachers, staff, students & parents

-Provide effective instruction and safety nets to improve student engagement & achievement

-Increase SATP Test Scores in every subject area
